Awake early and a little “tired and emotional” and quite a lottle bit viral. Becky and Adam joined us as we tackled 5 wineries. Mick was sober driver and Adam stuck to beer. We started at Urban Winery in Napier - a new project for one of the winemakers at Church Road, he's now also making his own wines (Tony Bish) in oak barrels and also concrete and oak ova (eggs). I particularly enjoyed the Fat and Sassy! We did a quick drive by of Becks work and she works just around the corner. Next we stopped in at Mission vineyard for a tasting- it's the oldest vineyard in NZ - the woman tasting with us was not one bit happy when I said one of the wines tasted like beer (it reminded me of a lager shandy!!). Tasting followed by a beautiful sharing platter at Church Road, they didn’t have a table inside but then quickly organised one. The waitress was from near Bridgend. The food was scrumptious. Next we stopped off at Sileni for our fourth tasting and then Mick dropped us off at Abbey whilst he went into work to sort out a noise complaint before joining us for a quick taste of a couple of the beers before a drive home to cook roast lamb dinner - family effort - Sandra prepared the meat, I helped peel some veggies and Becks cooked it all and then Mick carved the lamb - was beautiful. Becks left some after dinner and we all plumped for an early to bed

I thought it was summer over there. You're all wrapped up! Lovely to see pics of the fambly.
